Digital Liturgies Seminar

Digital Liturgies Seminar

On April 27th from 9-11:30am, we will be having a seminar with author and tech-writer Samuel James on how we are all shaped and discipled by the internet age. With advancements in internet technology, people can get instant answers to just about any of their questions, connect long distance with family and friends, and stay informed with events around the world in real time. But, with all these benefits, we still need to examine the connection between patterns in technology and human desires. Everyone longs for a glimpse of heaven; James argues they are just looking for it in the wrong place—the internet.

We will be examining 5 “digital liturgies” that prohibit people from contemplating big truths, accepting the uncomfortable, and acknowledging God as their Creator. We want to develop a biblical view of the internet and technology by exploring the connection between human desire, the internet, and wisdom through a Christian lens.

If you want to read Samuel James' book, Digital Liturgies - you can order it from Crossway or Amazon! And if you want to check out some of Samuel's writing, see his blog

This seminar is designed to be helpful for the average internet user, and especially for college students, parents, teachers, and pastors who are trying to navigate this connected yet fractured world. There is no cost for this event, but we ask that you sign up here
